This Study Aim is to Compare the Effect of Oral Methyl Prednisolone on Different Radiological Patterns of Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis as it Was Found That Not All Patients Get Satisfying Therapeutic Effect After Taking Corticosteroids.

Not All Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis Patients get the Same Therapeutic Effect after taking Corticosteroid so by Comparing the Effect of Methyl Prednisolone on Patients With Different Radiological Pattern we Will be Able to Select the Patient Who Really Need to Take Corticosteroid and Who Don't so we Will Protect the Patient …

The Effect of Dupilumab on Lung Function and Related Changes in Airway Volumes Detectable by Functional Respiratory Imaging in Patients With Moderate-severe Asthma

Primary Objective: To assess the effect of dupilumab on lung function and related changes in airway volumes detectable by functional respiratory imaging Secondary Objective: To evaluate the effect of dupilumab at Week 24 on bronchodynamics, hyperinflation, airway resistance, airway wall thickness, ventilation defects and mucus plugging derived from high-resolution computed …

A Rhinovirus Challenge Study to Investigate Exacerbations and Immune Responses in Bronchiectasis (BARRIER)

They will then be followed up over the next 6 weeks with some of the following procedures at each study visit; spirometry, nasosorption, nasal lavage, nasal brushing, blood test, sputum collection and a bronchoscopy. Participants will be asked to keep a daily record of their symptoms throughout the study.

Implementation of an Early Rehabilitation Program for the Patient With Lung Transplantation: From the ICU to Home.

Improvement will be observed through functional scales (6MWT), muscle dynamometry, manual muscle test (MRC-SumScore), bioimpedanciometry, inspiratory and maximal expiratory pressures, spirometry, frailty and sarcopenia tests and a long-term Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing. Expected Outcomes: Patients who perform the experimental group are expected to have an early discharge from the ICU and …

Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) in ALS

Twelve adults with ALS will participate in a study involving four 3-week cycles of progressive respiratory muscle training (RMT). The investigators will measure maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP) weekly. The investigators will obtain the majority of measurements of MIP and MEP during web-based telehealth visits. Participants …

Hyperpolarized Imaging for New Treatments

The introduction of triple combination CFTR modulator therapy for patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) with at least one copy of the deltaF508 mutation is expected to provide major health benefits, but will also require novel outcome measures that can detect CF lung disease at an early stage, capture the efficacy …

Early Environmental and Maternal Determinants of Airway Inflammation in Wheezing Disorders in Infants

This study collects data on microbiological, genetic and environmental factors, as well as lung function parameters (e.g. spirometry, body plethysmography, lung-MRI) to assess the complex interaction of predisposing risk factors for impaired lung development and respiratory diseases.

Asthma: Phenotyping Exacerbations 2

The main outcomes of this study are to establish a cohort of well-phenotyped asthma patients with a recent history of an exacerbation. We aim to describe exacerbation profiles (phenotypes) of the cohort in terms of inflammatory/biomarker profile and bacterial/viral infection status and to compare these with exacerbation events in the …
