Lutetium-177-PSMA-I&T in Oligo-metastatic Hormone Sensitive Prostate Cancer

To date, there are no prospective randomized studies published using this treatment in the hormone sensitive setting or in oligometastatic prostate cancer. Therefore, this study we will evaluate the effect of 177Lu-PSMA in patients with hormone sensitive oligo-metastatic prostate cancer.

Does Insulin Sensitivity Impact the Potential of Metformin to Slow Aging

In this study, the investigators hypothesize that metformin treatment in subjects free of type 2 diabetes will improve insulin sensitivity and glucoregulation in insulin resistant individuals, but will decrease insulin sensitivity and glucoregulation in insulin sensitive subjects.

Patient Preference of Apalutamide Versus Enzalutamide in Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer

This is a prospective, open-label, randomized, controlled, cross-over trial assessing patient preference for apalutamide versus enzalutamide in 146 male patients with recurrent or metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The primary objective is to investigate whether there is any difference in patient preference between apalutamide and enzalutamide in patients with recurrent or …

Investigating the Effects of Atezolizumab in People Whose Tumour DNA or RNA Indicates Possible Sensitivity

This study will investigate the effects of atezolizumab on select cancer types in people whose analysis of tumour DNA and RNA indicates they may be sensitive to atezolizumab. This study aims to determine if the information from the cancer genome analysis corresponds with the effects of atezolizumab on individuals and …

In-vivo Study of the Efficacy of Hyperimmune Bovine Colostrum to Block Absorption of Gliadin Peptides in the Human Intestine: A Novel Potential Intervention for Celiac Disease and Non-celiac Gluten Sensitivity

We propose to investigate the use of hyperimmune bovine colostrum to reduce gluten absorption. A double-blind, cross-over study will be performed in which persons who are following a strict gluten-free diet will be challenged with oral gluten with or without the bovine colostrum.

177Lu-DOTA-TATE and Olaparib in Somatostatin Receptor Positive Tumours

The combination of a PARP inhibitor that will specifically target the repair mechanism, with ionising radiation causing SSB's might overcome the repair dependent survival of the tumour cells, making them more sensitive to -emission and increase the probability of tumour cell death.

Intervening With Opioid-Dependent MothersMothers and Infants

The investigators expect that mothers who receive the modified Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up Intervention will show more nurturing and sensitive parenting and more adaptive physiological regulation than parents who receive a control intervention. The investigators expect that infants whose mothers receive the modified Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up will show better …

Targeting Risk Factors for Diabetes in Subjects With Normal Blood Cholesterol Using Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Every 3 minutes a new case of diabetes is diagnosed in Canada, mostly type 2 diabetes (T2D) increasing the risk for heart disease. T2D and heart disease share many common risk factors such as aging, obesity and unhealthy lifestyle. Paradoxically however, while lowering blood LDL, commonly known as "bad cholesterol", …

Hyperpolarized Imaging for New Treatments

In the past decade, research has focused on the multiple breath washout (MBW) test, as a sensitive outcome measure, especially if highly-effective modulator therapies are initiated in early childhood. Even LCI, however, may not adequately capture early lung function changes, thus warranting investigation of even more sensitive outcome measures.
