This study investigates the feasibility, safety, and effectiveness of a smartphone application designed for individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD). Parkinson's disease is a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement. This study aims to evaluate how well people with PD can use the app on their own. The app provides a personalized exercise regimen to help manage symptoms of PD.
Participants will use the app for a 12-week period, engaging in exercise sessions three times a week, each lasting 60 minutes. The app will guide users through exercises via video demonstrations and adjust the exercise regimen based on user feedback and progress. The study involves answering questions about symptoms, performing pretest measures, and undergoing assessments at 4, 8, and 12 weeks to track progress.
- Who can participate: Men and women aged 40 to 75 years with neurologist-diagnosed Parkinson's disease can participate. They must speak English, have a caregiver's assistance, be stable on Parkinson's medication, and able to stand unassisted for 10 minutes.
- Study details: Participants will use a smartphone app to follow a personalized exercise program for 12 weeks. The app includes various therapy videos and adjusts the exercises based on individual progress.
- Study Timelines: The study will last 12 weeks.
