Diagnosis and Monitoring of Disease Progression Using Deep Neuro Signatures

Using Remote Technologies to Study Alzheimer's Disease

Recruiting
50 years and older

Phase N/A

This study investigates how Remote Measurement Technologies (RMTs) can be used to assess functional abilities in people with Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Alzheimer's Disease is a condition that affects memory and thinking skills, leading to difficulty in daily activities. Traditional methods like questionnaires may not always detect early changes in these abilities. RMTs, which include devices like smartphones and wearables, might help find these changes earlier by tracking activities such as steps, sleep, and heart rate.

The study will look at how effective RMTs are in measuring daily activities compared to traditional methods. Participants will use devices at home that track their activities continuously or regularly. The goal is to see if these technologies can provide more accurate and sensitive measurements of changes in daily activities in people with Alzheimer's Disease.

  • Who can participate: Adults over 50, with and without Alzheimer's Disease, can join. They need a study partner, like a caregiver, and must have a smartphone and internet access at home.
  • Study details: Participants will use smartphones and other devices to track activities at home. These devices collect data on walking and sleeping to understand changes in daily life. A placebo is not used.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
