Overview

The 3D-PRIME study will analyse whether use of 3D echocardiography can improve risk stratification and cardiovascular outcome in patients with mitral regurgitation of different etiologies.

Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria:

Adult patients with primary or secondary mitral regurgitation of mild, moderate or severe degree, without clinical signs of heart failure and with left ventricular ejection fraction 40%.

Exclusion Criteria:

Co-existence of another valve disease of severe degree, clinical signs of heart failure combined with ejection fraction <40%, or inability to give informed consent.
